Most of these shots are from the 2nd week of January. We had lots of heavy fog for several days. It was a beautiful site to behold! It wasn't as shimmery as ice on the branches, but it wasn't as damaging either. The frozen fog left very artistic detail covering everything ...even the deck boards.

The photos are just super...love to see fresh fallen snow. But, it is especially beautiful when viewed from a toasty house and the edge of one's bed. :D
They are beautiful photos. The ice/fog creates such a different look. Even as pretty as it is, I am still ready for warmer temps. Hopefully the groundhog will give a good report tomorrow and spring will be right around the corner.

Ice fog rarely happens around this area but it happened yesterday morning on top of the snow we already had. I think ice fog is so, so pretty. Love your photos!

I've never seen the ice crystals look so spiky. Is that because it was unusually cold? I guess the wood burner heats the house but I wonder how the heat gets there, interesting to speculate. Your 8 1/8 inch egg is spectacular! Double yolk? Congratulations on the new baby! Overtiredmum on her blog said "Babies are such a nice way to start people"... and I agree.
Everything has turned to white! Yeah I enlarged the second pic and were they snowflakes? They're beautiful!

I agree with the others, the frosting makes everything so beautiful. Ice fog is one of my winter favorites, like you said it doesn't damage things like the ice does.

Funny I find on here a friend who was almost a neighbor. I grew up in Washington Court House, not too far from you. I remember Xenia after watching the funnel cloud in teh 70's roll over my head and later laid waste to your now lovely community. Nice to see your photos and how the little city has bounced! I too am writing a book, and am now wrapping it up for publication. Good luck to you friend/neighbor!

Seeing the enlargements of each are even more beautiful. The closeups of the birch trees reminded me of white pipe cleaners shaped into a tree.
What a view outside your window, mine now is just gray skies and dead trees. I like yours much better!
