The Do-Overs of All Do-Overs

I haven't been very active on this blog, so it has not kept up with the many changes we have gone through in a few short years. I posted here about maybe getting a smaller RV to visit the loved ones we missed so much since moving to Florida. Well, we missed them so much, we sold our home on the river and moved back to Ohio in June of 2021--in the midst of a crazy real estate market!

It took multiple offers of $25k over asking price to finally have an offer accepted. We bought this place with only seeing it on a video walk-thru with our realtor and the photos on the internet. No inspections--we're paying for that. But even with the issues we need to address, this place is perfect for us. I hope to spend a lot of happy years here.

This home was built in 1965 and the original owners never had children. She lived here until she passed in 2019. He passed in March of 2021 She was an avid gardener, and our yard is a masterpiece. So many beautiful flowers, bird houses and feeders, fountains, yard art . . . We found a rusted sign in one of the beds that reads "Nancy's Garden." Ray cleaned it up and spray painted it bright red for me and put it in the back bed to give a pop to the big section of ferns. It was Nancy's creation, and I wanted to honor her.

Our 55+ community in Central Florida was ideal. We did things together, helped each other, spent so much time together. We love so many of our neighbors like family, it was really hard to leave them behind. We do plan to visit.

While in Florida, we said a tearful goodbye to our beloved Boo after he developed cancer. We've missed having a fur baby in the family, so in November, 2022, we add Frankie to our family. The Yorkshire Terrier pup was just shy of 12 weeks old when we brought him home. He is such a joy! I didn't think I had the energy now to take on a puppy, but Frankie has made it surprisingly easy.

We're happy to be back in Ohio experiencing the four seasons that have nothing to do with insects! And we're loving all the family get-togethers.
